Release Date: 2026.3.16

On March 13, in Shanghai Hongqiao, flowers bloomed under the sun, and golden lions danced in the spring breeze. Amidst joyful drumbeats and gongs, the inauguration ceremony of the Global New Energy Empowerment Center (hereinafter referred to as the "Empowerment Center") was successfully held. This marks a milestone in promoting the solar PV, energy storage, and hydrogen industries from "single-point breakthroughs" to "deep integration," building an integrated "PV-Storage-Hydrogen" clean energy network, and accelerating the global carbon neutrality process.

The Empowerment Center is located in the core area of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District (Building 21, Lane 1588, Shenchang Road, Minhang District, Shanghai). It aims to build a dual bridgehead for new energy enterprises to "invite in" and "go global," and a headquarters cluster for leading domestic and international new energy companies. It was jointly initiated by the Shanghai New Energy Industry Association, the Shanghai Industrial Economy Federation, together with international organizations such as the Global Green Energy Council, the Global Energy Storage and Battery Council, the Asia-Pacific New Energy Industry Association, the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association, and leading enterprises in the global PV-storage-hydrogen sectors. Currently, the Empowerment Center has over 250 member companies.

The Empowerment Center, with the strategic vision of "Aggregating Ecology · Energizing the Future," is committed to building a strategic industrial platform for the global development of new energy enterprises. It integrates technological innovation, industrial upgrading, product trading, exhibitions, talent mobility, industry-finance integration, government-enterprise interaction, and international cooperation, aiming to provide functional empowerment for the high-quality development of the global new energy industry.

Guan Weiyong noted in his address that the construction of the Global New Energy Empowerment Center embodies the wisdom and efforts of government, industry, academia, and research sectors. Shanghai has positioned energy storage and hydrogen as key growth poles for high-quality development in the new era, focusing on optimizing the environment and strengthening factor guarantees. Efforts are concentrated on breaking through key industrial chain technologies, promoting industrial agglomeration and spatial carrier development, creating typical collaborative demonstration scenarios, and improving electricity market reforms such as capacity pricing. With the enhancing role of storage regulation, the industry is shifting toward an economy-driven transformation, and energy storage is expected to grow as rapidly as PV, with a promising future.

Johnny Browaeys, Expert Committee Member of the European Energy Storage Association, warmly congratulated the official launch of the Global New Energy Empowerment Center in his speech. He shared that the association has simultaneously established a new energy empowerment center in the Netherlands and looks forward to more practical cooperation with Chinese enterprises in the future.

At the inauguration ceremony, four major projects were simultaneously launched: the establishment of the Carbon Neutral Technology and Economic Development Research Institute, the Global New Energy Empowerment Center's specialized integrated media platform, the "Space Energy Internet Technology White Paper," and the "New Power System – AI Agent Systems, Technologies, and Applications White Paper." This marks solid and critical first steps in bridging technological innovation and industrial implementation, building a professional and authoritative communication platform for new energy, expanding foreign trade channels, and demonstrating the Center's commitment to building a high-end industry think tank and seizing future technological high ground.

The subsequent ribbon-cutting ceremony brought the atmosphere to a climax, as Jiang Yiren, Chairman of the 10th Shanghai Municipal CPPCC and Director of the Expert Committee of the Shanghai Industrial Economy Federation, declared the Global New Energy Empowerment Center officially open to the world.

At the subsequent press briefing of the Global New Energy Empowerment Center, Zhu Gongshan, Chairman of the Global Green Energy Council and Chairman of the Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association, served as the Center's spokesperson. He detailed the Center's strategic planning and core functions, vividly explaining its core philosophy of "Aggregating Ecology · Energizing the Future" and its grand vision. The Empowerment Center focuses on building six key functions: project development and precise resource matching; capital introduction and investment financing services; technology incubation and industrial implementation; industry training and standards promotion; establishing cooperation mechanisms with domestic and international media; and sharing business spaces, gradually forming an integrated empowerment platform for procurement, supply, and business services.
